#1 – El Jannah

El Jannah is a famous chain for 3 reasons: traditional Lebanese dishes, charcoal-grilled chicken, and garlic sauce.  We’re not sure which one is best, but all 3 are keto-friendly!  The cooks at every El Jannah season their birds to delicious perfection, and the garlic sauce may be the best condiment on Earth.  The traditional Tawouk Platter and Shawarma Meal bring eastern spice to your Aussie keto adventure – just remember to refrain from the bread and wraps!

#2 – The Bavarian

The Bavarian is a German-inspired Aussie gem, offering a host of keto-compliant dishes – just refuse the fries and mash!  We recommend the Jaegerschnitzel and Schweineschnitzel for fried comfort food.  If you want to avoid as many carbs as possible, go with the Famous Crispy Pork Knuckle or Trio of German Sausages – hold the apple compote.  The Bavarian will satisfy your German keto craving, whether you prefer fried or grilled meats.

Ruby’s Diner specializes in award-winning gourmet coffee and holistic, healthy eating.  There are no better keto restaurants for all-day breakfast and lunch in Sydney.  For breakfast, their almond flour-crusted Cauliflower Fritters come with green yogurt, cheddar, sour cream, zucchini salad, roasted tomato, and a poached egg.  Then, starting at 11:00, you can get the stupendous and bunless Paleo Burger with beetroot relish, tomato, pickles, cheddar, avocado, and a poached egg.  Oh, and if you’re looking for a keto breakfast-in-bed, they deliver!

Try the Bondi Feast that comes with mouth-watering sujuk, beef rashers, smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, and heirloom tomatoes for a super filling breakfast.  Avoid the labneh za’atar and sourdough to keep everything keto!  For lunch, try the bunless Breakfast Burger or the Bondi Tofu Scramble; both will knock your socks off with low-carb flavor!

#5 – Green Peppercorn

The Sydney locals know that they need to go to Green Peppercorn for Australia’s best Thai food and ambiance.  The service is magnificent, and the food is even better, especially for low-carb aficionados.  While many keto-friendly items are on the menu, we have trouble deciding between the Marinated Lamb Cutlets and the Slow Cooked Pork Knuckle.  Come to think of it, the Ox Tongue, Lao Sausages, and Chili Basil Squid are all phenomenal, too.  Forget it; we can’t decide – you’re on your own…

#6 – Inferno Grill

Inferno Grill is a family-friendly burger joint with a sense of humor.  Its burgers can all come bunless, and the chefs have outdone themselves with inventive recipes.  The Boss Hogg’s double beef, double bacon approach is a load of ketone-spawning goodness, while the Inferno Bacon & Egg gives you 2 eggs and 4 times the bacon to consider.  For people who don’t want something a little cleaner, go with the Portuguese – a grilled chicken breast with aged cheddar, aioli, chili, and lettuce.

#7 – Fratelli Fresh

We forgive you if you’re a bit skeptical about an Italian restaurant.  Luckily, Fratelli Fresh offers zoodles for excellent keto-compliant pasta.  Start with the Antipasti Board minus the focaccia for a shot of Old World savor.  The Italian head chefs don’t pull any punches when flavoring their entrees.  Try the Seafood Spaghetti to see what we mean – you won’t go home disappointed.  For traditional Italian secondi, try the Riverina Black Angus Top Sirloin or the Whole Baby Snapper.  Fantastico!

#8 – Bar Luca

As a keto-dieter, how would you feel if we offered you a juicy, fatty, delicious burger with a bun?  We thought so.  But fear not, Bar Luca has keto burger buns, and they are divine!  If you pay attention to the toppings, you can build yourself a monstrous keto-burger.

We recommend starting with the BL Beef burger, adding bacon, a fried chicken thigh, and mustard.  For something less obscene, tuck into the MR T-Ruffle burger with cheddar, streaky bacon, mushrooms, truffle aioli, and shallots.  You can get your burger fix, eat the bun, and leave with your ketones intact.  What’s not to love?

With a sophisticated art deco aesthetic and exhaustive, 3,000 bottle wine list, you might not think Rockpool Bar and Grill is an appropriate place to tame your keto appetite.  You would be wrong.  The food is just as impressive as the dining area.  By the way, some people think it’s the most impressive dining area in Sydney.
